Is my P4 2.3GHz machine faster than my P4 3.4GHz Machine?

Hello...

I wonder if someone might help me to understand this.

My P4 2.3 GHz machine is faster than my P4 3.4 GHz Machine?
I ran PT 4.0 on both machines at exactly the time.
The 2.3 GHz machine finshed all the tests faster.
Check out the results.

How long the full suite of tests takes to complete it not an indication of the speed of the machine. It is the number of calculations done during the time the tests are running that is important.

The over all result, as measured by the PassMark rating, showed the P4 3.2Ghz machine was 107% faster than the P4 2.3Ghz machine. (529 vs 256). Given that the 3.2Ghz machine also has a much faster video card this is about what you should expect.

Note that in V5 of PerformanceTest (available now) the CPU benchmark will be more accurate becuase it takes into account hyperthreading.
