The following are results that I obtained: I always try to run at least medium difficulty and at least 3 times to get a good weighted average. I have also run the tests after another reboot to confirm.
The only changes are to the video card and the driver software. I thought maybe it maybe that the drivers were getting corrupted, but I have swapped cards with doing a clean install as well as leaving the current Nvidia drivers present. The numbers were pretty much the same. I'm thinking at this point that something with the 1060 and voltages are affecting how the motherboard xmp configures the ram. I have not had time to confirm this or play with the BIOS in this regard.

Question about motherboard memory performance and using different video cards
Collapse
X

Can you post the actual numbers from the individual memory tests.
In the preferences window of PerformanceTest there is an option to run tests multiple times and take the max result. Can you run the tests at least 3 times (or even 10 times) and take the max result. It might be that there is some random background activity on the system and the variation you are seeing is random and not related to the video card.
Some video card also use some of main memory as additional video memory. So it might be normal that the amount of free RAM changes depending on the video card. But this should really effect the RAM speed.

Question about motherboard memory performance and using different video cards
I've been working with an ASUS Tuf Gaming B550 Wifi Motherboard with the Ryzen 5600X 6 core system. I had been using an old Nvidia MSI GTX 750ti video card in the system.
The overall motherboard system memory benches around 3500 with this card. However, I dropped in a few other cards for testing and found that there are differences in the performance.
The card in question is an MSI GTX 1060 6GB. Video BIOS: Version86.6.27.0.3a as reported by the software. When plugging in this card, overall system memory performance drops to around 2700.
When I drop in a newer card, say an RTX 3060 video card, the system memory performance does go back up to 3500. So I don't know exactly what would cause a drop in system memory performance when using the GTX 1060. Only 2 statistics in the memory performance remain the same between all the video cards, available memory and memory read cached (I think its that or its memory write). Memory latency drops from 57 to 41 when using the 750ti or RTX 3060 as an example stat that is affected.
Any clues or ideas to why this is the case? I am leaning on keeping the 1060 card in the system as the main video card. The RTX 3060 card is slightly bigger and the cable hookup is interfering with case fans and I've got another system in which to put it.
Thanks
