  • Test 10 Failed - 10,000 errors - Corsair RAM

    Hello,

New here - I just build a brand new PC for the first time and have been experiencing BSOD 'Memory_Management' on a regular basis (1-3 times per day). Googling root causes I found that I should run this memory test. The results are below, the test actually timed out due to 'too many errors'. All of which are on test 10, report is below.

Any advice on how to resolve? Do I need to RMA my RAM or is there simple BIOS settings or updates I can do to fix it.

    Thanks!

Test #10 isn't the most common test to see all the errors on (Bit fade test). Also there are 16bits in error over a large number of memory addresses. Which doesn't seem so random. So it could be some unusual case.

See this page to start with
    https://www.memtest86.com/troubleshooting.htm

Anyway start with the easy steps.
    1) See if there are any BIOS firmware updates available
    2) Test one RAM stick at a time.

Thank you for the quick response David.

I've tried both steps and read through the attached document. Attached are the logs, unfortunately the issue is still present. I did order 2 new sticks of RAM to see if that is the case (2x 16gb DDR5, GSKILL 6000). If that solves the issue, great. If not, I will return them.

Any other suggestions in the meantime or just wait for the new RAM to arrive?

Two bad sticks of RAM are unlikely.

You seem to be running the RAM at XMP Profile 1, 5600MT/sec.
Can you return it to the standard JEDEC speed of 4800MT/sec for a test.

That was my original thinking as well, the chances of both sticks being bad is very low.

I removed the XMP profile and re-ran the test with updated BIOS and still encountered the same issues.

I found the below thread where another individual last month had the same MemTest86 issues (Test 10 Only failed, Corsair RAM). New RAM fixed the issues for him. Fingers crossed, hopefully other hardware is not at fault.

Let me know if there is anything else I can try.

Yes, that post on Tom's hardware seems to be nearly identical to your issue.
(they had 16GB sticks however not 32GB)

Kind of implies a systematic fault with the Corsair RAM sticks.

Given that post I would try and borrow some RAM to test, or just return and replace the RAM.

Just by co-incidence, I am building a PC today with Corsair 16GB sticks. Let's hope I don't have the same problem.

Hi! I have the exact same issue with my Corsair Dominator Platinum (CMT64GX5M2B5600C40W). I already RMA the RAM modules and the motherboard and the issue persists. Did you solve your issue with the same RAM model or did you use another vendor/model? Because maybe I need to try that instead of replacing the CPU…

                Thanks, best regards.

Hi Xananita - I purchased a new RAM kit entirely. G.Skill 32GB (2x 16GB DDR5 6000) Model F5-6000J3636F16GX2-TZ5RK and had no issues. Perfect MEMTEST86 on first boot with new RAM. I sent the corsair RAM back for full refund.

I hope this solves your issues. I saw a different post and I had the exact same motherboard as well (Gigabyte Z790) and processor (I used i5-13600k). Not an expert at all but wondering if there is a combability issue between the board and the RAM?

Hi guys, im having the same issue, with same motherboard ram and cpu, seems like there is an incompatibility between the 3, ive ordered 2 crucial ramstick, will get em wednesday if you want xananita ill tell you if it solves the issue too, but since ive seen the 3 of us having the same exact issues, im pretty sure the new ram sticks will fix it

Hi! Today I should receive the new RAM (Kingston FURY Renegade DDR5 2x32Gb 6000MT/s CL32 - KF560C32RWK2-64). As soon as I test it I will let you know if it worked for me ^^

Wonder if Corsair even realise they have a bad batch of RAM.

                            Hello all,

Wanted to share my findings here as well. So completely new build with the following specs:
                            • Mobo: MSI Z790 MAG Tomahawk Wifi (DDR5)
                            • CPU: Intel i7-13700K (stock with Corsair H150i 360 AIO)
                            • RAM: Corsair Vengeance RGB 2x16GB @6000MHz (ref CMH32GX5M2E6000C36) which is on the QVL
                            • GPU: MSI Gaming X Trio 4070ti
                            • PS: Corsair RM850x Gold
Bios fully updated and XMP disabled so actually running the RAM at stock 4800MHz for now.

Testing the stability of the system before even starting to play with overclocking and XMP, I noticed some random crashes (CTD) in games like Cyberpunk or MSFS and recurring BSOD with often a message regarding memory like « MEMORY MANAGEMENT ». I ran Memtest86 and found a lot of errors on test #10 even on the first pass (see picture attached).

I highly suspect a RAM issue since my model is similar (if not the same) to you guys and my CPU/GPU seem to be fine when I run some benchmarks like R23 or Heaven. I just ordered a new kit from G.Skill that was on sale (Trident Z5 Neo RGB 32Go @6000MHz) also on the QVL of my motherboard.

Will report here if that fixes the issues but could it be a bad batch of Corsair RAM?

                            Cheers,
                            Michael

Yep sounds like it might be the same issue.
